Meet Jasmin

Jasmin is not shy about sharing details of her life. As a way of helping others and bringing attention to her rare disability, she blogs about her challenges with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP), a progressive genetic connective tissue disorder characterized by abnormal development of bone in areas of the body where bone is not normally present.

A talented and prolific writer, Jasmin has authors the blog, One Spirit, Two Skeletons. In it, she discusses her painful physical condition and her struggles to manage the big changes that affect her life. She frequently shows appreciation for the mundane parts of life, like her experiences with writing or the love she has for the snoozing cat at her bedside.

Jasmin’s CCC Care Manager, Jennifer, coordinates and advocates on her behalf through the Personal Care Assistance Waiver (PCA). This state program helps provide a personal care assistant to individuals with a physical disability requiring hands-on help for at least two daily living activities.
