Part of our LIVE HOME SUPPORT giving category, the Affinity Fund was established by the Kataja and Rees Gavin families in memory of their loved ones to provide complimentary short-term interventions and focused assessments for those who have had long-time relationships with CCC. In honor of Molly Rees Gavin’s retirement this year, we are accepting contributions in her name to the Affinity Fund throughout our 40th anniversary year.

Fund (Unnecessary Gifts and Luxuries for the Young-at-heart) was established by CCC Board Member, Andrea Obston, on her 60th Birthday and in memory of her mother, Bobbie Schoenberg, who taught her that a little luxury can make life sweet. This fund is used to provide unexpected joy to CCC-served individuals on public assistance by occasionally giving them small luxuries and comforts to surprise and delight them.

Part of our INNOVATION AND EDUCATION giving category, this fund is in partnership with the Senior Resources Multidisciplinary Team, the CCC Eastern Region has established this Fund to help address the shortage of healthcare professionals in S.E. Connecticut. Scholarships are restricted to benefit students working toward healthcare careers in the Windham Vocational Technical School’s Health Technology Program.

Part of our INNOVATION AND EDUCATION giving category, this fund was established by Patricia A. Morgan, former CCC Director of Development and Public Relations, in memory of her father, Albert J. Ahern, Jr. and expanded to include memorial contributions for Pat. The purpose of this fund is to help CCC increase productivity and employee retention by providing training for staff members, departments, groups or teams to help them become more effective and better equipped with the skills needed to carry out their day-to-day work responsibilities or to lead and motivate others. This fund is not to be confused with any tuition reimbursement benefit.

Part of our INNOVATION AND EDUCATION giving category, this fund was established to honor the legacy of Therese Nadeau, a CT Community Care Staff Member, Educator, Program Developer, Consultant (2010-2019) whose passion was to teach and coach people to be empathetic and present with others, to listen better, to deeply respect path and choices others make and “to do with not for.” This fund will be used to support the education of staff, providers and consumers about the principles of person-centered thinking and informed client choice.

The Myra Kerr/Mary Boyle Fund represents an emergency fund established to assist any CCC employee who faces difficult personal and financial circumstances. The Fund was established by Rosemary Silk, former Regional Director, in memory of her mother, Mary Boyle. Over the years the Fund has been expanded, thanks to the generous memorial donations for the late Myra Kerr, long-time CCC employee and former Director of Quality Assurance.
